Hi All,

We received official word that the public comment period was extended to 
Monday April 20 for the draft Solid Waste Management Plan (SWMP) for the 
Capital Region Partnership.  A big thank you to all those who submitted 
comments already.  For those who couldn't get to it, you now have more 
time.  For those who did make the deadline, you can submit additional 
comments if you wish. See info about our prepared talking points below.

Also, you're invited to join Albany City Recycling Specialist Sonny 
VonTiedemann and Zero Waste Capital District  in a /"Give it to me 
Straight" /talk about the SWMP @ Mon Apr 13, 2026 6pm - 7pm. Sonny asks 
that you please review the SWMP - at least sections 5 and 6, and tell 
him what's missing and needs adding or fixing.  See Zoom link below.

The draft Plan will guide the city's waste reduction efforts for the 
next 10 years!  Also, the Partnership includes the City of Rensselaer 
and the towns and villages listed below.  This is big, folks - and we 
need your help submitting public comments by the new deadline of Monday

Pay particular attention to_section 5_which tells you what areas/goals
